HIDIVE, A New Anime Streaming Service Out Of Nowhere?

Image
In something that just caught me off guard, HIDIVE, a new anime streaming service has not only popped up from left field, but has also acquired the assets of AN Online (Anime Network Online)! Subscribers of AN Online will be moved over to HIDIVE, after which, AN Online will cease to exist. All this within a span of 2 days! I am not sure if we need another anime streaming service, as now anime fans have to split their money between Crunchyroll, Funimation Now, Amazon's Anime Strike, Hulu, Netflix, Daisuki and more with some show overlap. You can read up on both press releases after the break.
