Not Sure How, But A 20+ Year Old Game Made My E3!

Image
Not sure who at Limited Run Games thought this was a good idea, but they deserve a raise! While I have owned the Japanese version of this game since 1997, we now get a US, English release of Castlevania Rondo of Blood, aka Dracula X, on the Turbo Duo! This means if you have a US or Japanese Turbo Duo/Duo R/Dup RX or a Turbo Grafx CD/PC Engine CD with Super System Card 3.0 or Arcade Card Pro, you can legitimately purchase this game or play it without having to patch it and waste away your CD drive with a CDR! Granted, LRG did announce a lot today, including Zombie Ate My Neighbors, the Shantae series on PS5 and more. So read all about it after the break

One Month In With Two New Consoles

Image
So, in November we had 2 very large consoles release... well, technically 2 1/2. Microsoft's Xbox Series S|X and Sony's PS5 Physical|Digital editions. Since I was lucky enough to get both during the pre-order period, I had both a Series X and PS5 at launch.  Both consoles are pretty big, carry similar specs and do what they are supposed to well. So how did they work out for me?

Dawn Of A New Console Generation

In 2 days and 4 days we will have 2 worldwide launches that will start off the next generation while the current generation will begin to fade. Or will they? For the 1st time, both major consoles will support the previous console's games on day one. Almost every current gen game will be supported on next gen consoles. In the case of the Xbox series X/S, games from the previous 3 generations will be playable. Sure not every single one, but a lot for sure. This will also be the 1st time where we have 2 versions of each console. Sony ditching the BD drive on 1 Ps5 model and Microsoft dropping a lower specced Xbox, also without a BD drive. While I am not a fan of all digital systems, for some the cost and shelf space savings can mean a lot. Granted, storage space is not an issue. Unlike the current generation of console, next gen systems will not let you use standard USB storage for next gen games. Sony will let you use properly specced PCIe 4.0 M.2 Nvme drives, once enabled in firmwar...
