What do you think the reason that Street Fighter Assassin's Fist kicked so much ass? Plain and simple the pure LOVE of the Street Fighter universe that Joey Ansah has. After the Street Fighter panel at SDCC, he sat outside of the room with fans just talking Street Fighter for a good half hour to 45 minutes. You could tell this was a project near and dear to his heart and he has made a better Street Fighter movie than Hollywood did on a much smaller budget. Remember, the DVD and Blu-Ray land this October with an additional 15 minutes NOT seen on Machinima, So go to Amazon and BUY IT !

What do we have here? It's our first Video Review! The Geeky Guru is back on camera with Kaiju's first video appearance. From Up On Poppy Hill will be released on September 3rd in the US by GKIDS/Cinedigm. Yes, that is correct, I did not mention Disney as  they are not involved with this release. As a departure from standard Ghibli fair, like "The Wind Rises", this movie is a period piece set in 1963 Japan. As such, it's not a children's film, but more for young adults and older. There is no violence or nudity or anything like that, it's just where the story goes. As being our first video review, please tell us what we can do to make things better.

Sorry these are taking a bit longer than I wanted to get them up, but we did have a few "Technical Difficulties" that I have to fix manually on a few of the videos we took at SDCC.

To be honest, I have yet to watch a single episode of Sword Arts Online, but this may change that. Unlike Aniplex's previous Limited Editions, this is US based, and thus fit right at home with most people's budget! The Blu-Rays will include some nice swag in the form of soundtrack CD's for Volumes 1 and 3, Cast interviews on Volumes 2 and 4, a 16 page booklet and more. Aniplex, please take my money! Sentai Filmworks just sent out some good news for dub fans, but bad news for sub fans! Persona 4 The Animation Collection 1 on Blu-Ray will retail for $10 less at $59.98, but at the same time will no longer carry the Japanese audio tracks! My opinion, which was later confirmed, is that due to the US and Japan sharing the same Blu-Ray region code (region A) that this is an effort by the studio to prevent reverse importation. Reverse importation, in this situation for those that do not know, is when people in Japan order the US version of the anime to save a TON on the cost. So, for example, Disc 1 in Japan has 1 episode and a bonus CD retails for about $50 US dollars. Disc 2 with 3 episodes retails for close to $100! So I do understand the reasoning, but I prefer Subtitles vs dubs. The DVD's will not be affected due to the fact that the US and Japan are in different DVD regions, even though DVD region protection is easy to break. Read the full PR after the jump!

Greetings Geeks, In my usual daily Anime news fix, I stumbled upon the exciting news that the Berserk Trilogy of films based on the Kentaro Miura manga will be getting a 16 country release. Viz Media announced that they would be releasing the film in North America during their panel at Sakura-Con on Saturday. Berserk has been licensed for release in North America, Canada, Russia, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, and South Korea. A release date for any of these regions has not been announced but the good folks Viz announced that their North American edition would be out this fall. Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen I: Haō no Tamago opened in Japan on February 4. The film will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on May 23. Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen II: Doldrey Kōryaku (Berserk Golden Age Arc II: The Battle for Doldrey) will be released in theaters in Japan on June 23. It focuses on the epic battle by the King...
