I love being able to use Snk's Neo-Geo "The Future Is Now" phrase! Now that the Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are all out there, how is the gaming community enjoying them? Over the past few decades, specs have never seemed as big as there are now! In the 90's, the SNES was capable of visually better games, where the Genesis was able to toss pixels around at insane speeds. Now we have 1 console running on a PowerPC CPU (Wii U) while the other 2 run on multi-core X86 CPUs from AMD. All 3 also run on AMD GPUs.

In a move that once again caused a good series to be cut short, Cartoon Network has failed to renew both Green Lantern The Animated Series and Young Justice. The move repeats what happened to both Justice League Unlimited and the Thundercats reboot. Unlike Thundercats, both series were able to complete their current story arcs.

As of late, a lot of bashing towards cosplayers has been going on. From the quality of costume, sexiness, to the cosplayers race or figure, it makes me wonder... WHY? On Facebook, many cosplayers as of late have had issues from people reporting them or the lewd or rude comments from people. Seriously, has the anonymity of the Internet just caused people to be dumb? Sure, you have the right to voice your opinion, but so does everyone else. If you don't like something, but it's not affecting you personally, then keep going.  If it's a website, don't go there anymore. Facebook? Unlike the person or page. If it's within the terms and conditions of the site, then why bother?

Well, Sony had let loose their new system....without actually showing it! When the PS3 was announced, an early rendition was shown. The same for the Vita.  We know what the controller looks like, specs, camera, features, but not the system. Now the system sounds impressive, the games look great, and backward compatibility is handled via streaming. Now this is where I have an issue. Sony seems to have gone "All-in" with streaming but how will that work for those of us whose cell phones have better bandwidth than our ISP? Over the next couple of days we'll digest all this news for a comprehensive story. Until then, Game on!

Like most gamers, I have more than one console. Like few gamers, I have consoles that span decades! I have been gaming since the 80's, and with the exception of an Atari 5200 destroyed by a hurricane, I still own them all. A working Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis, multiple working Saturns, Dreamcasts, PS Ones, Turbo Duo, TG-16 /w CD, 2 Neo-Geo MVS units and more! All with dozens of games, all work. What I have noticed is that with the last 2 generations aren't as "durable" as the consoles of the past.

We all know what the media thinks of the Wii U. Besides the initial 5GB firmware update, it seems to be love it or hate it. So I ask you, the people, what do you think? Did you buy one? Does a Nintendo system not interest you?  Let us know.

We here at the Grotto have participated in our fair share of cons over the past couple of years and have talked to quite a few cosplayers. When we do, regardless if they are male or female, in something that totally covers them up or something skimpy, we have always tried to show the utmost respect. The story I'm linking shows the wrong side of this.... The douchebags that give male, geek centric reporters a bad name. Mandy Caruso had to deal with some real pieces of crap during the New York Comic Con this past weekend. The best part, I think she handled the situation perfectly. R ead about what she did here.

OK, I am bummed, like many others out there that Bayonetta 2 will be a WII U exclusive, but come on! I really had a blast playing the original on my XBOX 360, and when I was in Tokyo I picked up a copy for a friend before it's US release. This game was great for what I wanted... A time waster that was fun to play, had plenty of violence, and had some sex appeal. Read on after the jump!
