Synology Announces The RS18016xs+ And RX1216sas

Synology has announced the release of the 12-bay RS18016xs+ and it's expansion, the RX1216sas. These enterprise level network storage devices can be expanded beyond 1PB,  yes, a petabyte! By adding additional RX1216sas devices, a single RS18016xs+ can manage over 180 individual drives! As a current Synology user and former enterprise employee, this seems like a great and easy way to add tons of storage without the headaches usually involved in adding and configuring enterprise level storage. Synology To Show DSM 5.0 Beta At CES

Announced today to be shown at CES...TODAY, Synology is be showing DSM 5.0 to the world! If you don't know, DSM is the backbone of all of Synology's NAS devices, from consumer to enterprise. The significance of DSM 5.0 lies in the fact that even lower end devices will see a huge performance increase. Synology Also Announces The DS214se

Synology also announced their most aggressively priced unit, for home users that will not take advantage of everything DSM has to offer. The se stands for "Single-Role" and not special edition. While capable of using DSM to it's fullest, it's not really designed for multi-tasking, but can run the full range of DSM applications. For those looking for an entry level NAS or want to replace something like an old D-Link DNS-321 or 323, this seems like the NAS for you. Full PR after the break
