Hobbies are often a great way of meeting people, but how could Kakeru Diachi, who collects juice cans, have ever suspected that he’d meet a girl when he attempted to DRINK her? Naming her Melon, because she’s got great melon… soda, Kakeru learns that she’s an Akikan - a girl who’s also a special can created to fight other Akikans to determine what kind of container is better: steel or aluminum! Will becoming involved in this research project complicate Kakeru’s life? Of course it will, but because Melon’s steel body needs CO2, he’s now stuck with her! And when his wealthy, attractive childhood friend Najimi gets HER own Akikan, the trouble really begins!

But that silence is shattered and Phoron’s musical meanderings are over when his partner suddenly returns, intent on finalizing the ’contract’ they made twelve years ago! Which would be great except for one thing: she’s not just any spirit, but the dreaded Corticarte, the Crimson Annihilator!
