Review - Kill Hannah

Kill Hannah, no, NO I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT! I was just talking about the band Kill Hannah, geez....

Kill Hannah is an Electronic Rock band from Chicago. They currently include singer, Mat Devine, guitarist and backing vocals, Dan Wiese, guitarist, Tom Schleiter, bassist, Greg Corner and Drummer Elias Mallin.
Mat Devine named the band Kill Hannah after he and his girlfriend “Hannah” broke up.

The band has eight singles including my favorites: Lips Like Morphine, Kennedy and Why I Have My Grandma’s Sad Eyes.
Kennedy was the single that put them out there, performing it on Last Call with Carson Daly. It appeared in One Tree Hill, Jack & Bobby and North Shore.

The band has six albums. One of which is, Until There’s Nothing Left of Us.

This is the band’s fifth album and was my first album from Kill Hannah. Every time I listen to it, I fall in love with them all over again. I think it’s the electronic sound combined with Mat Devine’s soft voice that just makes me happy whenever I hear it even, if some of the songs are sad.

Wake Up The Sleepers is the band’s sixth album and the best to dance to. A lot of the songs on here have a ‘Get up and dance’ feel to them. I was excited to see they had a lot of artists contributing to some songs like, Benji Madden of Good Charlotte and Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls. The album has a good meaning inside, with other small messages like the fourth track "Living in Misery". I find this album polished and classic Kill Hannah.

I love this band. It’s something about them that makes me come back for more, I can’t quite put my finger on it but I have had friends that don’t like them, no matter how hard I tried. Which leads me to believe that Kill Hannah is one of those bands that you either like right away or you won’t like at all. I hope I get them more fans because I believe they deserve it.

If you want a few songs to test the band try:
