Boss Battles For The Soul Out Now!

Last November we posted about a KickStater project from Mark Reichwein, a musician/composer from Japan with a love of 16-bit music. Well, not only did he hit his goal, Boss Battle For the Soul can be purchased now!

We had a chance to listen to this digital album and it does sound like it's being pumped out of an SNES! What is fascinating is that this is all original music, composed and styled to fit into some all time classics. Music that sounds like it belongs in titles like Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and more!

The best part? Since all stretch goals were met, we have 5 more pieces being released this December!

So, go and support Mark over at Bandcamp

Read some words from Mark after the break!
From Mark Reichwein:

It's an album of all SNES boss battle music written by myself to sound like they could be hidden tracks from their respective games. I used instruments straight from the games and tried to simulate the original composers' styles. Plus my friend Josef Blom (www.facebook.com/JBlomMusic) did the post-processing and did his own simulation of SNES reverb. 5 bonus songs will be coming later in December for the games Super Metroid, Final Fantasy 4, Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country, and Mega Man X.
